<div itemprop="description">Passed away peacefully with her family by her side. Beloved wife of the late James Vincent (June 2, 1970). Cherished mother of Beverley (Jerry) Angus, Penny (Jack) Regnier, Stan (Elaine) Myers, Greg (Cathy) Myers, John Myers ( Denise Lapalme), Paul (Sue) Myers, Maureen (Bob) Gagne, Mary Beth Guenette (Jim Pollier) and Pete (Cheryl) Myers. Loving sister of the late Gladys Knapp, Florence Scott, Carl and Weston Brash and special aunt Aileen Brash. Cherished grandma to 20 grandchidren and 24 great grand children. She will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, family and friends. Verna was the former owner of Myers Gas and Variety for 52 1/2 years, where she was well known for her hamburgers and egg salad sandwiches. Also, Verna was the Deputy Reeve of Rochester Township and served on Rochester Council, County Council, Essex County Conservation Authority, Catholic Women's League of St. Simon & St. Jude Parish and devoted many years preparing baskets for the Goodfellows. Visitation will be held at Melady Funeral Home (572 Notre Dame St. Belle River 519-728-1500) on Monday, June 6 from 6-9pm and Tuesday, June 7 from 2-5pm & 7-9pm. Parish Prayers Tuesday at 8:30 pm. The funeral service will be held from the funeral home on Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at 10am to St. Simon & St. Jude Church for a funeral mass at 10:30am. Interment to follow at St. Simon & St. Jude Cemetery. In kindness, memorial donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or to the Wellness Center would be appreciated.
