Beloved husband of Louise (nee Byrne) for over 61 years. Loving father of 6 sons; Richard (Pam), Kevin, the late Ken (Charlene), Brian, Gerald (Jennifer) and Tim (Monica). Cherished grandpa to Jennifer, Kim, Jackie, Katie, Kelly, Ken, Jessica, Shawn, Micheal, Christopher, Emma, Breck, Shealinn, Jenna Mae, Timmy, Jack, Max and Gracie. Great-grandpa to Nicholas, Noah, Carson, soon to come Victoria and Owen, Alyssa, Colin, Ava, Shauna, Christian, Marissa, Kaylee, Colin, Damien, Aiden, Emmett and Bentley. Dear brother of the late Donald (d. Donna), Irene Hewitt (d. Stan), late Ella Mae Ruggaber (d. Nicholas), Loretta Campeau (d. Lawrence), Julia Mullins (d. Johnny), Elmer (Shirley), Clifford (d. Evelyn), Donna Zablocki (Mike), late Mary Kay Strong (d. Mike), Bob (Betty), late Shirley Hunt (d. Tom) and Tom. Beloved son of the late Emmet (1997) and Marjorie (1987). Gerald was a retiree from General Motors. The family would like to thank the staff of Chatham Kent Health Alliance for their compassionate care. Visitation will be held at Melady Funeral Home, 572 Brock St., Belle River (519-728-1500) on Sunday from 6-8 and on Monday from 2-5 and 7-9 with parish prayers at 8:00 p.m. The visitation will continue on Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at Visitation Parish, 5407 Comber Rd., from 10:00 a.m. the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at St. Mary&rsquo;s Cemetery. If so desired, memorial donations may be made to the Food Bank. <br /></div>
