Betty graduated from London Teachers College in 1951 and taught for the Windsor and Essex County Separate School Board for many years. The last 12 years of her career were spent teaching Kindergarten at St. John's Woodslee before retiring in 1984. So often she was greeted by previous students who remembered her fondly from those years. She was an active member of St. John the Evangelist Parish in Woodslee, where she served as a Eucharistic Minister and Lector. She was also a past president and member of the Catholic Women's League for over 62 years. During her retired years, Mom found her time as a Hospice volunteer very rewarding. Mom was a beautiful lady, well known for her sparkling blue eyes and welcoming smile. She was strong in her Catholic faith and shared her abundance of love with all she met. Her devotion to her husband Sid of 59 years and her ever-expanding family is her legacy and her most treasured accomplishment.
