<div itemprop="description">With broken hearts we announce the passing of Al Vander Park. Beloved husband of Colette (nee Byrne). Loving father of Scott (Leah), and Melanie (Josh McMath). Dearest son of Catherine and the late Adrian (1971) and son-in-law of Aline Byrne and the late Roy (1997). Cherished Papa of Emma, Reese, Sara, and Alison. Dear brother of Jack (Pauline), Miriam Henriques, Tony (Maria). Brother-in-law Gary (Linda) Byrne, Paul (Joan) Byrne, Diane (Gord) Bowman, and Steven (Debbie) Byrne. Pre-deceased by sister-in-law Annette (2002). Al will be missed by many nieces, nephew, his best friend Bert (Bonnie) Chartrand, Rocky his faithful furry companion and many workmates and friends. Al worked at GM Transmission as an Electrician and retired after 30 years of service. He was an avid car enthusiast, especially for his new Camaro he called his &ldquo;Sweet Thing&rdquo;. The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to Dr. Czilli, the nurses and staff at Hospice Residential Home for their compassionate care during his stay there. Visiting will be held on Friday from 2 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Melady Funeral Home, 572 Notre Dame St., Belle River (519-728-1500). Parish prayers at 7:30 pm. Funeral will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2013 at Good Shepherd Parish - St. Gregory Site St. Gregory Rd. Tecumseh for Mass of Resurrection at 10:30 a.m. NOTE: Friends are invited directly to Good Shepherd Parish St. Gregory&rsquo;s Parish. Interment at St. Simon and St. Jude Cemetery.
